Once you have selected create it will bring you to a new page where you can paste the text that you wish to use for creating the wordle. Copy the following lyrics of the song, "No Irish Need Apply":
The first option on the page allows you to paste your selected text.
Once your text has been pasted into the box select the "go" icon

Manipulating your wordle
Once you have hit "go" the wordle will automatically be created. In the example below I used the declaration of independence.

Using the toolbar (shown below) at the top of your wordle you can edit the appearance of your wordle. You can use different fonts, different orientations and different color schemes.

2) Analyze the Song, "No Irish Need Apply" using an I Hear/It Means
Listen to the song once - just listen.
Read and listen again to the first Stanza of the song. The Transcription:
Copy the First Stanza in the I Hear, and copy your Answers to the Questions above into the It Means.
You will complete the rest of the “I Hear, It Means” using the procedure as follows:
Individually complete the I Hear then Pair/Share using Google Documents with one peer in class.
As a pair, you should decide on the best 4 I Hears to use for your analysis - It Means.
Create a Final Version that combines the agreed upon information that you both can edit at the same time - in real time. NOTE: Your individual work should also reflect in a different color, the changes you made to your individual work.
Do the same for the It Means.
Sharing/Conferring:
As a class we will confer, the teacher will ask groups to report back from their Final Version.
We will clarify misconceptions and answer questions, and also make sure the big ideas are pulled out.
Revise your Final Version based on class discussion in a different color.
Group Work/Processing:
Together write the Point of View of the artist using the share feature of Google Documents on your Final Version.
You will produce one "publishable" I Hear/It Means with the completed POV by the end of class.
HOMEWORK
Lastly, you will read the Inside Storyin the text book to add to your analysis of the song and clarify any misconceptions.
